The Santa Barbara Blues Society, the oldest existing U.S. blues society, founded in March 1977, is proud to present Chris Cain and his band on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Carrillo Recreation Center, 100 E. Carrillo Street in downtown S.B.

From a blues-loving family, Cain attended his first B.B. King concert at age three.  He taught himself how to play guitar at age eight, and was playing professionally in his teens.  He is a master jazz as well as blues guitarist, and also proficient at piano and alto and tenor saxophone.

Cain’s first release in 1987 led to an immediate Blues Foundation nomination as Guitarist of the Year, and his live performances and albums since then have garnered multiple awards and accolades.

Doors will open at 7:00 PM.  S.B.s own Henderson Brothers will play an opening set, followed by two sets by Cain and his band.  There will be free BBQ snacks, and raffle tickets will be offered for an ocean view cabin on the sold-out October Pacific Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise.
