Louisiana born, Texas raised, guitarist Phillip Walker first big gig came in 1953 when at the age of 16 he was hired by Zydeco king Clifton Chenier, a post he held for three-and-a-half years. Phillip replaced Jimi Hendrix in Little Richard's band, backed up R&B greats Etta James and Lowell Fulsom as well as recorded with legendary songwriter Percy Mayfield. Phillip has recorded for Playboy, Hightone, Black Top & Alligator to name a few. Robert Cray had a hit with one of his songs Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark.

Phillip Walker's first live CD, The Phillip Walker Big Band Live at Biscuits and Blues, was released September 24 on M.C. Records. The live recording took place June 12 & 13 2002 at one of the premiere blues venues in the country, Biscuits and Blues in San Francisco California. Phillip Walker cranked up his big band that features horns & keyboard.
