A former member of the Muddy Waters Blues Band, Paul Oscher is one of the greatest living purveyors of that style. Besides Muddy, Paul has recorded and/or performed with numerous artists including John Lee Hooker, T-bone Walker, Johnny Copeland, Buddy Guy, Victoria Spivey, Big Mama Thornton, Eric Clapton , Keith Richards, Levon Helm, .....

He is the recipient of five WC Handy Award nominations and a winner of the LA music award and is currently in the process of writing a book on his life in the blues, excerpts of which have published in the companion book to the PBS series "Martin Scorcese presents the blues".

His solo show features Paul on harmonica, bass harp, guitar, melodica, piano and slide guitar, it's a show that has received rave reviews from blues fans, musicians, press, promoters and club owners around the world.

Paul Oscher learned the blues from the Masters. He doesn't play anything but the real, unadulterated, down-in- the-alley, gutbucket, stump jump blues. He is not a retro player. He just plays the blues the way he learned them…low down and lonesome and has been doing so for the last forty years. Deep Blues! Exactly the type of quality music you have come to expect from your Blues Society presentations!

His latest album, Down In The Delta, released in July 2005 on Blues Fidelity captures the deep blues feeling that Paul brings to his live performances. It features featuring Paul on neckracked harmonica, guitar, piano, melodica and vocals. Have a listen to some sound clips (below) and you will be easily convinced that this is a must see show.
